GNSI Conference 2010: Paleo Talks

"Illustrating A Dinosaur Exhibit"(2-4pm)

"Explore the illustrator-client relationship from both sides
with paleoartist Thomas Miller and exhibit developers
Traci Connor and Jennifer Armstrong.
They will review the process used to create illustrations for the
Museum of Life and Science’s Dinosaur Trail (opened July 2009 in Durham, NC.)
Thomas’ work is featured on the signage, website, and associated products
sold in the gift shop. In addition, Thomas will review his technique and process
from sketches to finished illustrations."

"Lost Tapes" on Animal Planet

This season's episode on Lake Monsters uses my
updated Mosasaurus image when talking about the
Bear Lake Monster. I got a big kick out of it. I hope they call me
again to do more. You just got to love xeno shows.

Museum of Life and Science's Dinosaur Trail Opens.

I was hired to paint a series of illustrations for use on exhibit signage,
marketing, website graphics, and merchandising. All were based on
new life-sized dinosaur statues arranged in an outdoor exhibit among
plants found fossilized in the same rocks as each animal skeleton.
The last few were finished before the statues, so I got to design
the color schemes of the final models.
It's a really neat exhibit and was great fun to work on
even with a very challenging deadline.
My thanks to the NCMLS staff for choosing me to be a part of it!

Check out the NCMLS Website.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Added some new paleo art to the Color
section.

I'm splitting the website into two themes -
Games and Paleo Art.
The Paleo side is pretty easy to set up,
since the UI already has that theme.
The Game side will look a little more scifi.
I'm working on the art now...stay tuned.
